# Trading on X

> Trade Kash markets by replying to their posts on X

![Hero Light](https://mintcdn.com/kash/ccJqSmLmwHitLEdQ/assets/cover/cover.svg?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=ccJqSmLmwHitLEdQ\&q=85\&s=bd474b91f522088935255f33b33ddd96)

Kash markets are posted on X, and you can trade them without leaving X. Reply to a market's post and mention the trading account, and the trade is submitted from your own wallet.

## Before your first trade

**1. Create a Kash account**

Sign up at [app.kash.bot](https://app.kash.bot). See [Creating an Account](/getting-started/guides/creating-an-account).

**2. Connect your X account**

Sign in with X, or connect X later from **Settings → Account**. The bot recognises you by your connected X account.

**3. Give your wallet trading permission**

You give this once, during onboarding. If you skipped it, the bot will tell you to finish it in the app.

**4. Add USDC**

Trades are paid from the USDC in your own wallet. See [Depositing](/getting-started/guides/depositing).

## Placing a trade

Find the market's post on X, then either **reply** to it (anywhere in its thread) or **quote** it, and mention **@kash\_bot\_trade** with your amount and outcome:

```
@kash_bot_trade buy $50 of Yes
```

```
@kash_bot_trade buy $10 of Argentina
```

Kash reads the amount and matches the outcome by its label, in several languages. When the trade goes through, the bot replies with a confirmation such as **“✅ Yes for \$50”** and a link to the transaction.

You can also close a position the same way, or ask the bot for the current prices, the time left or your P\&L on that market.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Mention the account that posted the market.** Most markets are posted by [@kash\_bot\_trade](https://x.com/kash_bot_trade), but creators can post markets from their own accounts. If you mention the wrong account, the bot will tell you which one to use.

## Rules and limits

* **Reply to or quote the market post.** A mention on its own, a pasted market link, or a quote of a post that isn't a market won't be traded.
* **Trade size:** the bot tells you if your amount is too small to trade.
* **Act promptly:** a mention that's too old when it's processed is refused rather than filled at a stale price.
* **Open markets only:** markets that have frozen, resolved or been cancelled can't be traded.
* **No transaction fee:** trades placed on X don't carry the network fee that web trades may include. The usual protocol fee applies.

## Direct messages

You can DM the bot to:

* check your **balance**, **portfolio**, **P\&L**, **trade history** and **pending trades**
* get the **prices** on a market or **discover** markets
* request an **export** of your data

Trading happens by replying to market posts, not in DMs, and markets are created in the web app.

## Your own X bot

Creators can connect their own X account in **Settings → X bot**. Kash then posts your markets from your account, and your followers can trade them by replying to your posts. Disconnecting revokes Kash's access to your X account and stops the posts.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Kash will never DM you asking for your private key, a login code or a "verification" deposit. Deposits, withdrawals and claims happen in the web app.
